I’m excited to welcome a new face to Inklings Week 2023! Join me in welcoming Heidy De La Cruz and I hope you’re inspired by her poetic words today.

There is freedom in words.

Freedom to create.

Freedom to live.

Freedom to imagine.

Create a world from your imagination.

Where rules are what you write.

Creatures are what you describe.

And the hero is who you want.

Create a hero like Prince Caspian who stood up for what was right,

Even if it was against his people.

A hero who helped the citizens of Narnia win their land back.

Use your words to create.

Use your words to inspire.

Use your words to build a whole new world, where people visit with the imagination of their minds.

Use your words to fight for freedom.

Heidy De La Cruz is a freelance writer and podcaster. She writes the weekly newsletter Into My Thoughts on Substack where she shares her opinion on different topics and her life. She is the author of the poetry book, "Words From the Heart." And Heidy is the host of "The American Dream in The Eye of Immigrants Podcast" where immigrants share their stories about moving to the United States. She holds a master's degree in Healthcare Administration and bachelor's degree in Psychology. She works as a Medical Coding Analyst. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, watching movies, and spending time with her husband and two kids.
